Emelia Griffiths
PhD Student
University of Leeds
Emelia did her undergraduate degree in chemistry at Liverpool John Moores University and graduated with an MSc in Chemistry in 2023 from the University of Manchester. During her Bachelor’s degree, she focused on the stability and degradation of the antimicrobial drug methylene blue. Her Master’s research project focused on the synthesis of chemically-fuelled ‘door-opening’ rotaxanes and control over their motion mechanisms. Emelia is now carrying out her PhD at the University of Leeds with Prof. Nicholas Warren, Prof. Richard Bourne, Dr Adam Clayton and Prof. Nikil Kapur. Her research is focused on the development of an automated flow reactor platform for the synthesis of functional copolymers.
