Harry Jones
PhD Student
University of Leeds
Harry graduated from Nottingham Trent University in 2017 with a 2:1 in Chemistry (MChem). Whilst there, Harry completed two placements within the flavour and fragrance industry, and another summer placement within the university’s synthetic organic chemistry lab, producing a library of 16 novel tetramic acids to be screened for anti-microbial activity. Since graduating from NTU, Harry has had numerous technical roles in industry, including QC, R&D and Sales, but moved to Leeds in 2023 to begin his PhD studies. Harry is part of the Molecules to Product CDT and is supervised by Dr Adam Clayton, Prof. Nicholas Warren and Dr Paul Thornton. Harry’s project involves designing and manufacturing a flow photoreactor for the depolymerisation of RAFT polymers and subsequent valorisation of the regenerated monomers, with a future focus on the optimisation of these reactions.
