Louisa Kamajaya

PhD Student
University of Leeds

Louisa graduated from the University of Leeds in 2023 with a 1st in Medicinal Chemistry (MChem). During her degree, she completed a placement year at CPI in the Formulations business unit within the Automation and Digital team. She developed a soft sensor for the control of particle size in a pharmaceutical wet granulation process, utilising chemometric models and in-line characterisation techniques. In her MChem project, she worked under the supervision of Professor Richard Bourne on the development of a self-optimising flow reactor system for impurity scouting in organic synthesis. Louisa is now pursuing a PhD under the supervision of Dr Adam Clayton and Professor Richard Bourne focusing on self-optimisation protocols of telescoped flow systems, sponsored by UCB and AstraZeneca.
