Ria is a final year MChem undergraduate at the University of Leeds. In the summer of 2024, she completed a short research placement within the iPRD, under the supervision of Dr Adam Clayton, working on collecting kinetic data for two key steps in the synthesis of Lenacapavir, a newly approved HIV-1 drug. For her MChem project she is continuing this research by optimising these two steps for greener solvents, under supervision of Prof. Thomas Chamberlain.
